Lampropetus is the genus of nonvenomous snakes containing Kingsnakes and Milksnakes. This genus is most noted for eating other (sometimes venomous) snakes. This is reflected in the flute and clarinet lines "chasing" each other in tight canons at the unison. On the music below the clarinet is on bottom and in Bb. This is the last page of this movement. Lampropeltus is part of a series in progress called Taxonomy. Movements may be performed singularly or in combinations.
